Three pallets of white polyethylene bags stand in mute formation against a panelled industrial wall, their bulk arranged with an almost ceremonial regularity. The blue hazard pictograms printed across each sack recall the heraldic devices of an anonymous mercantile order, a guild without a name. Polymer resin – the raw feedstock of contemporary material life – awaits transformation, indifferent to its destination. De Chirico would have recognised this staging: objects imbued with presence precisely because no human figure disturbs them. The warehouse wall holds its silence.
