An Anoplodesmus saussurii, commonly known as the long flange millipede, photographed in Delhi, India. This flat backed millipede belongs to the Paradoxosomatidae family and features a dark, segmented body with distinctive yellow or orange spots along the edges of its flattened lateral flanges, known as paranota. These contrasting markings serve as warning coloration to potential predators. Its numerous body segments and tiny legs are characteristic of millipedes, which play an important role in ecosystems by helping decompose organic matter.
